Going Back to the Belly Button – Peru, November 2020
I began leading Yoga Journeys to Peru in 2008 to learn more about my heritage and simultaneously introduce my yoga community to it’s wonderment.
Cusco the capital of the Inca Empire is the Quechua word for navel. The Incas named in navel because they worshiped the earth as a goddess “Pachamama”. Here is where they built their main center of worship the temple of Koricancha. I sometimes think of how modern civilizations have much to learn from this approach to the earth. I love seeing the eyes of my friends from the north as they come visit Peru & get entranced by the beauty that the culture evokes. Next month I embark on another journey to Peru. The May retreat is full so I just opened registration for November 13-20, 2020. During the journey we will visit various sacred sites and iconic locations like Machu Pichu, Rainbow Mountain, Pisac. We will also do a daily yoga practice. The retreat is all inclusive with hotels, meals, train ride to Machu Pichu and transportation to & from the airport. My role is to be a humble host to this amazing country to assure my guests are cared for in the best way possible this way Peru and it’s magic does the rest.[/vc_column_text]
