DESCRIPTION:
Greetings all Salim Rollins & Francisco Morales-Bermudez are delighted to invite you on our Trekking Journey of Peru from April 20-30, 2022. Every detail of the retreat schedule has been planned with much heart. We will be trekking through the Ausangate Mountain range & after retreat in the Sacred Valley of Peru, the epicenter of the Inca Empire. Your flight will land in Cusco or Qosqo which means navel (where we connect to the mother) in Quechua the native tongue of the Incas. We will pick you up from the airport and take you to the hotel where you will relax, receive a massage and slowly unwind in preparation for our trek. The Ausangate Mountain pass is one of the Sacred Mountains or Apus of the Incas. We will walk through glacial lagoons, hot springs and Andean communities.
Things to Bring:
- Sleeping bag (of 7 degrees or more)
- Backpack that doesn’t exceed 12 KG or 27lbs (sleeping bag & sleeping pad are included)
- Small day pack
- Trekking shoes
- Comfortable sandals or shoes for the campsite
- Bathing suit for the hot springs
- Thermal (long) underwear, a jacket
- Warm socks & a hat or beanie








Day 1 (April 20) – We will pick you up at the airport in Cusco & take you to our hotel. We have booked a massage to help you unwind from travel & then we will have our first dinner together.
Day 2 (April 21)- Morning yoga, breakfast, short walk to the waterfall, lunch, Afternoon massage, dinner, plant bath to stimulate muscle relaxation.
Day 3 (April 22) – Today we begin our trek of the Ausangate Mountain. The first day we will hike for two hours & arrive to Upis to set our campsite at a beautiful hot spring
Day 4 (April 23) – On our second day we will ascend for 2.5 hours to the glacial turquoise lagoons of Pucacocha, Hatun Pucacocha y Qomercocha. We will have our second campsite at Ausangatecocha.
Day 5 (April 24) – We will walk to a mountain similar to Vinikunka (Rainbow Mountain). After we will walk down a valley to a area where llamas & alpacas graze (Uchuy Finaya y Pampacancha. This day will be a 3 hour walk and we will make our camp.
Day 6 (April 25) – Our last campsite will be on Q’ampa surrounded by lagoons in the high Andes. This is an area that we often see the Andean deer grazing and galloping.
Day 7 (April 26) – Our last trek day we will walk around two hours down to Pacchanta where we will have a final soak in the hot springs to close our trekking journey. Then our van will meet us and take us to our hotel in the Sacred Valley. This being the conclusion of our trek we have also reserved a massage for you.
Day 8 (April 27) – Visit the weavers of Chincheros. The community of Chincheros are comprised of master weavers. We will learn of the history behind their art form and & visit world renowned ceramic artist Pablo Seminario.
Day 9 (April 28) – We will take the morning Inca Rail train to Aguas Calientes, the town at the bed of Machu Pichu mountain then walk into the Machu Pichu temples and receive a guided tour. We will return to our hotel for dinner together.
Day 10 (April 29) – Our final day we will relax at the hotel.
Day 11 (April 30) – We will have breakfast together then take the group to the airport. If your flight is later in the day we will walk the historic streets of Cusco.

CANCELLATION POLICY
If a participant needs to cancel prior to the retreat we offer partial refunds according to the following schedule:
4 weeks before the event: 75% refund
3 weeks before the event: 50% refund
2 week before the event: 25% refund
1 week: no refund
